Hey all!

We've just implemented a new version of our old forum ranks!

The new "Idle Villager" rank has some slightly limited abilities here in the forums, and they cannot post discussions or do things like post links or set a signature on their posts. When you have commented 3 times you'll reach the rank of "Scout Cavalry" and gain all the usual posting abilities! This is to help combat spam, and should not affect most of you, as you have likely already posted more than 5 times and have a higher rank:)

Check out the list of ranks here: https://forums.ageofempires.com/discussion/15139/forum-rank-system/p1?new=1

Lost CD1 of my AoE3 install

FireluckerFirelucker Member ✭Idle Villager✭

Hey there,

I lost my CD1 for my AoE3 game I bought back in 2006. I got all the add-ons and still got all the CDs except for CD1 of the AoE3 vanilla install. I got the product keys as well, just no CD1.
Is there a way to install the game using my Product key and my linked ESO account?

Thank you for your help in advance,

Marc.

    Hey,

best way would be to get the game in digital form on the current Steam sale, while it's 75% off: http://store.steampowered.com/app/105450/Age_of_Empires_III_Complete_Collection/

If you remember your ESO account name and password, you will still be able to use it. Otherwise, you can create a new ESO account then, following these steps: http://eso-community.net/viewtopic.php?t=13065

    Hey there,

You could certainly try to get an ISO file of CD1 from a friend or somone other generally. Just mount the ISO virtually and when CD2 is asked put it in physically...
This is just theoretically, I do not know if this works. I doubt it to be honest, cause many elderly games have their keys bound to the CD and are not checked with a database online.
But either way, you could try this :)

Actually, most older games just check whether the key is a valid result of the generation algorithm they used. The discs in all retail copies are identical. That's why keygens work: You don't need the correct key, just a valid key.

And your solution probably would work, but it most likely isn't legal to just get an ISO of the missing disc, depending on the local laws where he lives. ;)

    Yeah I agree, you're right.
But either way, we often do "illegal" things to do what we love :D

I can give you the key as soon as I get it from the contest. But you are at no. 3 spot, will let you know if other two guys don't respond to me :) Is that cool.
