It appears that idle fishing ships do not light up your ‘idle villager’ display. This is different from AOE3:DE and altogether not a good thing. Makes it a PITA to micro your fishing fleet. Also… fishing is SLOW.
And why is it so hard to unload transport ships? I should be able to select four transport ships, click ‘alt-x’, put my pointer on the beach and unload everything. I find it hard to unload one ship at a time. It’s so fussy about the pointer that I have to do it two or three or four times.
And finally the question: How do you repair ships?
I tried healing a ship with a villager and nothing happened. I’d hit, what is it, alt-d? And try to hit the icon (I think it’s a hammer) onto the ship and all that happens is the villager goes into the ship.
… Villager can’t repair. There is no repair… Priests, Pharaoh, Valkyrie, Healing Spring, Temple of Apollo, Restoration, Servant, Caladria can heal ships and water myth units
It is indeed kinda strange that siege units and ships are not repaired but just healed like any other unit.
Well any unit besides a few that are not healable.

Caladria

So Temple of Apollo is a God power. Caladria is only for Atlanteans, Restoration is only for Greeks and it uses up a God Power, servant is only for Atlanteans and then only if you have Oceanus.
I’m thinking they really don’t want you to be able to repair ships.
AoM does not have affordable healing for everyone like AoE2/4 does. Only Egyptians have reliable source of healing (Priests). All other factions have it locked behind god choices.
So it’s less they don’t want you to heal/repair units and more to make each faction have strengths and weaknesses. Also it balances few units like Son of Osiris and Titan by making them unhealable.
