You just remind me of a thread about Nomads remake. 11
Don’t worry. The secondary effect means it doesn’t need to be a huge advantage.
The emergency gold is still the main function of Paper money, while the lower fee supplies a permanent effect which people have urged. Whatever, the Viets get better than before. The new Paper Money would be more practical and reflect the historical significance of its name, instead of lumberjacks generate gold or food, which is likely nothing to do with monetary reform.
In fact, we’ve already overlapped a lot, such as those civ bonuses and UTs that increase armor.
I don’t think that would be a problem, they still have different strategies and gameplay. On the contrary, that makes it very familiar. The new fancy tricks can be done better and then left to the new civ.
For me, there is no need to insist too much on the identity of civ which is deliberately stipulated by the game. The important thing is to deal the problem and able to have fun.
There are but making more and more overlaps makes civs boring. If you’re okay with overlap, why not making it at least better. 0% at imperial doesn’t sound too big of a deal.
Only do this on a few and specific occasions, I don’t think it will have much impact.
Honestly, it is precisely because the name of Paper Money and the historical source behind it is very suitable for this effect so that I suggested this. If this is to design economic UT for a new civ, I will not adopt this idea.
On the other hand, I and others recommend letting Nomads directly provide 50% or all of the population cap, also because it fits very well with the situation the tech was originally intended to simulate. Even with the new nomadic civ in the future, I wouldn’t give it such an effect.
There are no any restrictions on buying or selling, and I think it can be easily compromised by exploiting vulnerabilities. Although this requires experimentation to determine.
The Vietnamese don’t actually need more powerful bonuses, and 10% is sure to be fine.
Well it’s Paper Money and logical something like that would make trading more efficient. So apart from the immediate gold how about a reset of Market Prices - only for the Viet player researching the tech.
Fits the name and the historical source as well as lowering transaction fees.
However, thinking the reason the market price has been for all players, I guess that’s part of the fairness of the game.
Why not simply double the gold amount you get for the tech? Also price could be lowered and to compensate remove the team effect. Vietnamese already have a nice team effect with tc visibility (if devs would finally make this the formal team bonus since no one does imp skirms in team games).

You mean feudal age bonus.
Sarracens cannot use his market bonus in dark age
Still, your point in valid, but the major effect of the tech would be the gold income
I indeed meant Dark age because if you start with a market in custom maps, you still get the bonus.
Sounds good. But probably hard to implement by devs as market prices are global and same for every players. Also need to remove guilds from Viets tech tree in that case.
