Yeah, those things were really cool too (tbh the DLC itself was a let down from from all the excitement this patch generated).
I’m just posting to say that thanks to 3K, I have lost the will to go on with this.
The game is just so borked now that I just don’t care. All the changes I hoped to see (albeit all were pretty small). I just do not care anymore. With these abominations around, everything I wanted seems superfluous.

Yes, exactly… The saga jumped the shark a while ago… since 2020 when they abandoned AoE 1 DE or since 2021 with the release of LotW for AoE 2 and USA for AoE 3… now it is more common and more followed and with worse decisions and DLCs…
They could do an architectural rework, fitting several classic civs into their respective architectures and adding several new ones…

Honestly, why don’t they do the switch? Is it really that difficult? What’s the big reason not to do the change? I can understand in the HD Era where we didn’t have the Central Asian architecture, but right now, it doesn’t make much sense to keep them in the Middle Eastern set tbh. Sometimes I really don’t understand how the minds of AoE2 devs work. They still keep one of the worst communication teams I’ve ever seen in my life that causes debacles after debacles, and even after the 3K Fiasco, their methods seem similar in the new Chronicles DLC tease, but they won’t implement such a small change.
