Advanced Genie editor -Pierce armor for villagers

I have changed lot of stats and cost, but for Villagers i can’t add armor nor pierce armor. Only armor that i can change is the base armor that reduces all incoming damage.

Anyone knows how to add pierce armor to villager?

That can be great.

Try this link

If that doesn’t work, then probably it is a hardcoded thing. By the way, too lazy to try it by myself x.x

The villagers do look like they can use some armor!!!

Do Palmyrans villagers offer any insight on how to do it ? They have armor

Base armor changes made the way they have been done to Palmyra works, but if i change the stats from base armor to slash or pierce armor then it does not work.

Those armors are classified in different attributes.

  • Armor (attribute 8)
  • Base armor (attribute 15)

There is unit called villager in units section, but changing any stats to it won’t take effect until Bronze Age is researched. And if you have villagers created before Bronze Age they won’t have the effect activated until you command them to attack enemy unit. (easiest way to check it is to increase base health of villager)

I was able to add pierce armor by adding it directly to the unit, but it took effect only after bronze age.

For other similar cases i duplicated the unit and disabled the duplicate from all other civilizations, but for villager it didn’t work. Even if i disabled the original villager i could still create it.

hello gentlemen

Unlike any other unit, villager’s armor can reduce both melee and archery damage because it was designed for Palmyran’s villager, which has the only villager’s armor bonus in the game.

why would you need that? they should´t fight

It is so that they can build towers while under range fire.

If you have armor on your villagers it’ll mean less casualties when you’re being raided

I agree, they do die quickly. It’s great to raid someone like that but it doesn’t feel good when this happens to me. They should add some research tech like in AoE 2 & 3 or increase stats.

The pierce armor is meant to be for Babylonian villagers only. Not for everyone.

i agree with them those villagers die way to quick they need protection

Hi, Open AGE and select the villager unit then do the following:

  • In the “Armor” section, add a class of type “Base pierce”.
  • Put the “Amount” = 6 or more.
  • (Optional) you can add the value 6 to “shown pierce armor” box.

I hope it helps.

Now that this was bumped up i tested all kind of things again.
Found the right way to do it.

There is multiple different villager units in units section:
83 villager (Club)
293 villager (pitch fork)
118 Builder
119 Fisherman
120 Forager
122 Hunter
123 Woodcutter
124 Stone miner
127 Explorer
156 Repairman
251 Gold miner
259 Farmer

  1. Add 0 pierce armor to all villager units in units page.

  2. add 1 pierce armor to class civilian in Babylonian tech tree under Effect page.

  3. add 1 pierce armor to Palmyran civilians. (Palmyran armor is base armor and when you added the 0 pierce armor to all villagers the base armor didn’t any longer increased the pierce armor.)
