How do I know if I was picked to try the beta version? I thought they were gonna announce it today at 9.

I did following:
Note: I pre-ordered before 25th of jan)
- Download XBox Insider Hub ( Xbox Insider Hub (Legacy) - Official app in the Microsoft Store )
- Open and Login on XBox (the same Login credentails as for pre-order)
- Go to “Insider-Inhalt” (e.g. I guess in EN it`s called “Insider-Content”
- Click on it “install” …
- You will redirected to Microsoft Store and you can now download the App (approx. 17 GB)
Note 2: It was taking more than 1 hour on my 500Mbit/s broadband Connection
I hope this helps you a Little bit. If you are not able to download it, you was not picked up for the closed beta Group…
However, I cant start the game, after few seconds of black windows-Screen → closed. nothing happens.

Since the last update there are no rooms to play in multiplayer mode. When I create a room no one appears … What happens to my game?

BlackScreen fixed with reinstallation on internal ssd (before on external SDD)
Hello , thanks for making the Definitive Edition, but we old fans of this game need GATES beside the walls, Please fulfill our wish to add GATE option on walls , also if you add army formations that will be outstanding . Regards !

Not all. There guys those are very puritan with game mechanics, if you ask me, yes I want gates but if you ask more fanboy they even want AoE Rise of Rome features.

Fair enough. I cant remember the different features between AoE and aoeRoR, so not gonna go into that
i know this might be the wrong place for this but im just hoping this is heard; please ramp up the catapult spawn sound as a long time fan that grew up on the original im hoping this sound is boosted to the level of the other spawn sound effects. battles could be won or lost without hearing them spawn. please. growing up those were always my favorite because of the sound they made.

Open the Windows 10 Store.
Ensure that you are signed into the store with the correct MSA! You must use the same account you used to pre-order the game.
Search for, download, and launch the Xbox Insider Hub app from the Windows 10 Store.
Sign in with the MSA assigned to the Gamertag you used to pre-order the game.
Select Insider Content on the left hand side.
Select Age of Empires Closed Beta.
Select Join.
Download the Game.
Only those who ordered the pre order will win Beta Acess?
