Age of empires 2: DE xbox

Issue:

When playing the Xbox version of age of empires 2 DE double clicking a group of units that are moving is extremely difficult. It can be the difference between winning or losing a fight or not being able to back track to defend units. I thought maybe it was my M+K setup but my friend has the same problem. We both have razor mouse and keyboard but not the same ones if that is relevant.

Reproduction Steps:

Here’s how to reproduce the problem:

  1. Start up a game using mouse and keyboard and build enough units to call it a group.
  2. select a location for them to move to and then deselect the units.
  3. Try to select the units again by double clicking.

Try to use control groups, it makes things easier.

That’s more like a work around than a solution though. Sometimes in the moment it’s much quicker to just double tap if they are right on front of me and I have my left hand on arrow keys.

It’s definitely an Xbox m+k issue because the double tap works with no issues on controller.
