I don’t understand. Participants would play AoEDE on computers in the store? LAN vs others? So only those in the store compete to win?

come on set this up different so we can all play

Competitions are US only, now tournaments are US only. And my game still won’t launch… again… meh.

I suggest that you host online tournaments instead.

Game is fun to play but crash quite frequently, also friends list and searching for what room your friends are in is horrible

Can’t do online tournaments because the games unplayable online; it’s literally worse than MSN gaming zone in 1997 on dial up. Lol.There are like 15 people online last I checked worldwide like a week ago… I’d imagine this remake was a MASSIVE waste on money, would have been a lot better off putting it on steam, but everyone already knows that. Also why the ■■■■ is there a female community manager when literally 100% of AoE players are male? I realize most software companies are infested with social justice, but may have been a better idea to get someone who knows what the ■■■■ their doing, and you know, maybe actually has experience with AoE and RTS games. Lol.

Since release I’ve played over 24 hours of DE multiplayer. Had zero out of syncs, it was super playable, and I had a blast. There are tons of games being started right now.

Also why the hell is there a female community manager when literally 100% of AoE players are male?

You are a total idiot, incredibly rude, and your post should be deleted. One of the reasons the Age franchise sold so well (over tens of millions of copies) is because the game was super accessible and approachable by anyone. Age is not a game for any specific subset of people, period. It’s a game for everyone.

I still cant play online. Lobbybrowser and sometimes main menu laggs me out. Also i have to reinstall every time in order to get the game launched. AI still horrible. Please fix that first before doing tournaments.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahaahhaa

No, none of that. This is as bad as the release itself. “Early next week”, they said. “Patch to adress the issues”, they said.
Oh, “patching” means having some local lans where lured into the shadows, die-hard fan neckbeards can come and try this piece of junk while roleplaying away the issues while you cash in on some merch?

Everytime I want to play I have to (which btw, wasn’t something YOU adviced but people who by accident discovered this) download one of your junk games and install/reinstall it every time. Way to crop some statistics, guys.

Hi there! I am actual living and breathing female AoE player, nice to meet you

  1. It seems exreamly discriminatory that this was only available to US players. I wonder what the aoe demographic is. I have a feeling that Europe has the bigger player base.

  2. I wonder if the reason why you did an in house tournament is because the multiplayer isn’t working very well. I’ve only managed to play 2 games online because the game would not connect to lobbies and also saying games were full even if the lobby showed spaces.

  3. Are you disappointed about how broken your game is? The reviews on the Microsoft store confirms how you have failed and how you have let down AOE fans and yourselves.

  4. The player who commented on having a female community manager: No, just no.

Gasp! A lady! I am shocked

All jokes aside, thanks for being here with the thousands of other female Age players @SkySailor12, nice to meet you too!

Let’s make this very clear, Age is a game for everyone - no matter their gender, race, etc.

Thanks @sulphuric66, I’ll leave their comment for now as long as the poster doesn’t get unruly, since it’s promoting some nice discussion around how girls do in fact play games.

But I did need to hop in here and agree with you, Age of Empires is 100% a game for everyone. Anyone who tries to make a certain group feel inferior or like the are not allowed to play is looking at a swift and permanent ban from these forums.

Hi there! I just wanted to hop in here and answer what I can of your questions.

1- we are starting off rather small with these in store tournaments to see how our audience responds to them. If they go well our hope is definitely to expand them to our international audiences at some point (but give us time! Turns out it is a big job to plan and coordinate international stuff:P)

2 - These tournaments were planned well in advance of any issues. However if you are experiencing any difficulty connecting please check out our support page for help: https://www.ageofempires.com/support

3 - We are continuing to work on Age DE, and will continue to do so. Keep an eye out here and on our website news section for updates on new patches!

4 - Agreed.

Hi @rhrmn

I come from Viet Nam.
Game Classic mode is very popular in VietNam and China.
So why AOE DE not support classic mode with multiplayer?

I think, If AOE DE support it then we will buy this game and play online .
This will make the game AOE DE grow faster as people will have 2 options (Classic mode or DE Mode) to play online.

Thanks.
