Age Of Empires - I Definitive Edition on Microsoft Store and Steam

I purchased Age Of Empires - I Definitive Edition on Microsoft Store and the problem I face is, I only have 111 GB SSD on my laptop and sometimes I need to uninstall Age Of Empires - I Definitive Edition and reinstall it because I need to make changes playing other games and Microsoft store has no backup option, so I want to buy Age Of Empires - I Definitive Edition on Steam when it is launched if I have money.

Can such players as myself get a discount on steam as we already have Age Of Empires - I Definitive Edition on Microsoft Store?

Hi @RealityWords, There will be cross-play between the Microsoft Store and Steam versions of Age of Empires: Definitive Edition, so buying another copy of the game on Steam will not be required to play with Steam users. As a result, the community team has not announced any plans to offer Microsoft Store users a discount to buy the Steam version.

I already know about cross-play, I’m not worried about cross-play, I’m worried about taking a backup.

If I can take backup then I can uninstall and reinstall at will.

Steam games can be backed up but MS Store games can’t be backed up.

That is my concern. That is why I wish to buy the same game on steam store.
