AI players attempt to repair destroyed buildings

I have noticed that AI players will activate repair on buildings which have already been destroyed. It seems that this happens during the period before the building’s “ruins” fully disappear.

Result is that the AI wastes resources to repair buildings which no longer exist (the buildings do not actually get revived by the repair).

Issue is not present on legacy AoE3, since AI players had no ability to perform repairs there.

Here’s the steps to reproduce the issue:

  1. Play some recorded matches with AI players.
  2. Watch the recorded games closely from AI player’s point of view and catch them enabling auto-repair when there’s no valid building to be repaired.
