All new DLC Achievements unlocked before DLC became available

Steam has update the Game to latest version. New DLC is not yet released. It will be (or was, depending on when you read this) released in about 30 minutes from the time the bug happened. All Steam Achievements related to Last Chieftains DLC were unlocked.

Here’s the steps to reproduce the issue:

1. Buy the DLC

2. Install the update

3. Start the game before DLC became available

I was hoping to earn the achievements myself.

How can you unlock Xbox achievements? I can’t obtain a single one for more than a week for some weird reason…

Same here. I pre-ordered the DLC a while ago. I opened Steam and the game updated itself. Once I launched the game, all the new DLC achievements unlocked instantly.

It just unlocked without me doing anything other then going to skirmish menu.

Right when I launched the game I got 2 achievements I didn’t even buy the dlc

I love doing the achievements, I completed them all and was looking forward to the next ones for the DLC.

I got these four. It’s honestly sad, I was looking forward to earning these achievements myself. I can still play the new civilizations but it doesn’t feel right knowing that wouldn’t be earning the achievements fairly. At least I got the Mapuche victory achievement normally.

This bug is a repeat of what happened with Lords of the West, so hopefully the devs will release a hotfix soon before new players come in.

They manage to the fix the bug but unfortunately they couldn’t do a thing for those of us who’ve already unlocked the achievements:

Next time, when the next DLC launches, I’ll check the bug reports first before playing the game so that I won’t run into this problem for a third time.

I should’ve waited for one or two days before playing the new DLC. That’s what I get for getting too excited. I do hope the devs will address this issue of not being able to win the prematurely unlocked achievements properly again. Hopefully they might introduce new achievements to make up for this.

Incorrectly earned 3 achievements all the same time despite not having “Alexander the Great” DLC upon launching AoE II

Victory as Thracians / Makedonians and “歌え、女神よ、アレクサンドロスの怒りを” (unable to translate to English sorry)

Will you do something like adding new achievements for the achievement hunters to compensate for this issue?
