It is terrible when mistakenly selected all villagers.
I never use this function, and every time I use it is a mis-click.

In aoe2 you can select an option to when double click a villager you select only idle villagers on the camera’s range which is pretty useful i would say, an option like that would be a nice add in my opinion.
