thats what happens when everything is compared to aoe2 as golden standard, aoe4 is relearning that lesson
Seriously speaking, the Chinese Communist Party and Xi Jinping don’t have time to deal with these things. It’s probably just Microsoft’s own strategy.
Same. It’s a shit game.
He’s making a joke based on Tencent’s involvement with AoE mobile. It’s a Chinese company with a lot of different subdivisions which have their hands in a lot of cookie jars.
There have been allegations of Chinese companies harvesting large amounts of user data. From what I’ve heard, TikTok collects more data than most (possible all?) other major social media sites and social media sites already gather a lot of information. Given those allegations, the concerns seem reasonable to me. I’ve also heard allegations it runs in the background even when you aren’t using the app. That could be nothing even if it’s true, but it could also mean they’re collecting data about other things you’re doing on your phone (think websites visited, logins, passwords, etc).
It’s well documented that China has a law which basically requires Chinese companies to share data with their government. I’d imagine you can see why people might find that concerning.
Microsoft has been collecting data from Windows 10 users for a long time, and you don’t worry?
I didn’t say that. However I see it as less of a direct threat.
Hopefully we’ll see some posts on social media about AoE 3DE’s 5th anniversary…
Yes, canceling a DLC for its third installment to include a DLC of the three kingdoms in a medieval game…how legendary…![]()
Yes, I wouldn’t be surprised…
Yes, exactly… if it weren’t for Retold we would have had the Baltic DLC in 2023 already… but they started developing Retold as soon as they launched KotM in May 2022 and they kept delaying it and we already saw that they had nothing done when they announced it last year… the best thing left for us is to settle for the Poland and Denmark mods that are in the game and that’s it…
Surely no one… maybe I’ll try it when it comes out on PC, but it’s a Rise of Kingdoms 2.0 full of macro payments and nothing more…Ever since gameplay was leaked back in 2021, it was known to be rubbish…
Yes, they mistreated AoE 3 players and released a controversial DLC that angered AoE 2 players… the devs are brilliant, the only ones who are saved are Retold and 4 who will at least have some decent DLC…
“The future of the saga” yey… ![]()
But they do advertise deals on the 3DE’s Steam tab and get a fair amount of flack from players…
Yes, between Retold eating up a lot of their resources and seeing that they could earn more since AoM is loved by both AoE 2 and AoE 3 players, they said “kill the Baltic DLC and let’s go to Retold”…
Yes, no one in the industry is safe now… there are tons of AI-powered games coming…
True, but for example Sandy Petersen always liked The Warchiefs because the civs were very unique and he defended the game in front of the Xbox CEO at that time, Don Mattrick (remembered for later having sunk the XOne in its 2013 presentation) who said that putting natives as civs hurt the sensibilities of native minorities and the natives themselves said that they liked the game…
True, but it was logical that after the Middle Ages came the colonial age, so the name AoE 3 suited it well… the problem was always the fictional campaigns of the original game (which the expansions -except Act II: China- solved, but it was not enough… in that sense the 3DE should have included African and European campaigns in its expansions and not just historical battles and maps)… that’s why in my 20th anniversary DLC I plan to remake the Pachacuti, Moctezuma and Almeida campaigns for 3DE and with that more or less solve the lack of campaigns…
Yes, the worst thing is that it’s not a bad game, but underrated…when it came out in 2005, everyone loved it, except for AoE 2 fans…
Yes, AoE 2 nostalgia has hurt the series and the fact that it can’t evolve…
Apparently, WE’s social media slots are precious, saved for only profitable marketing information like STORMGATE from their “brother” company with a few hundred players, instead of their own unprofitable game with 10x more players
Yes, it’s a bad joke… they’re capable of promoting any game except this one…
Rarely would you see a company that hates its own product so much.
What about Ubisoft? They will release a few patches and the end!
EA with its sports games and Ultimate Team, and Activision with its shooter-casino, which is what CoD became and its skins and weapons featuring Snoop Dogg, Nicky Minaj, the rainbow unicorn in Warzone, and now Beavis and Butthead and American Dad in BO6…
Look, these people celebrated their anniversary by mentioning a game that had received no support for more than 10 years.
Outrageous, isn’t it?
Lol, but they like their games… it’s obviously totally different…
Alas my friends, here is a possible solution for this problem.
I’m inherently suspicious of any “unofficial” patch that doesn’t originate from a major community effort. One-off efforts like this have popped up since the Great Betrayal and they usually start with Otto and Baja, but the patches universally turned towards things that modder just doesn’t like. Most will likely steer clear of these until there’s an ESOC patch. I know you made this and are invested, but I will remain skeptical, but I definitely encourage your efforts
At this point, I have more faith in an Empire 2 Total War than in WE ever giving AoE 3 another try…
Someone told me through DM that I was an evil being coming to destroy what they love, turn the good folks like themselves against each other, and they had to defeat me.
WE, stop. This is cringe. You could spare the time and energy for one debugger and everyone will be happy.
(Plot twist: they immediately ran away when I started to explain why V&V was an insult. Convenient)
Edit: something totally out of context
How are you still breathing? I would have died from the cringe.
