An Open Letter to World's Edge regarding AOE3's Abandonment

Probably 90% of it will be recycled for Aom.

It seems silencing people on x and Instagram didn’t work

THIS is the type of organized behavior I can get behind and was hoping people would do.

Need to do this and make it a thing for all such communications.

Yes, a row… and the AoE 2 fans didn’t respond in kind by buying the AoE 3 DLCs…

Everything…100%, especially when they add the Incas…the 10 Unique Units of each civilization and they’ll only have to create the mythical units…

They can’t hide it anymore… I’m sure that when the Retold DLCs are finished, they’ll give us like 10 Age of Empires III DLCs so we stop complaining…:joy:

Friend,I still think they will no longer give us any DLC.But the changes on steamdb may,I say may give us a balance patch with few new cards, just because they worked so many things recently,I think this may mean something.

Yes, or at least a big patch to say goodbye properly, with a video of Tilanus crying and thanking the fans for giving him the opportunity to improve AoE 3 in DE as much as possible…

@MatM1996 Friend,I just hope they can give European and Federals a new kind of cannon replace the falconet, this cannon is use an age 4 cards, similar to falconet(damage, range and so on),but don’t have limber mode, just like this.

Hopefully…but we’ll see…

What I said about the cannon is just an advice, lol.

I think about their progress,if there will have an update,I guess it might be the last part of february.

Yes, hopefully…although it’s strange since the South American DLC for Age of Empires 2 would be coming out at that time…

In my opinion, they should hire another studio to take over support for AOE3DE. I think Creative Assembly (the creators of Total War) could be the right studio to continue supporting Age of Empires III.

Maybe or it could be Paradox that buy that license.

This way it could make a new Age for the company ‘cause they would entering the RTS market
And a new Age for Age of Empires III, brought by a company that actually care about their games and their customers.

A new world of possibilities. Maybe a Conquer the world mode, Who knows?

When W.E. cancelled AOE3 DLC and end the game, AOE3 fans in fact suffered double harms. Because the not only they lost the favourite game, but also AOE2/4/AOM fans will come to mock and attack AOE3 fans again and again, just like they always do. Although AOE1 also ended years ago, the AOE1 fans do not care, because most of them still play the origin version. So AOE3 is the only one W.E. abandoned. W.E. let AOE3 fans be treated like jokers. One plays AOE3 will be mocked and attacked forever.

It almost felt like they did it on purpose

They did it
All they have done was on purpose

Remember the changes to Fire Pit, Colonial Age, and so?
Remember the atrocious state of the game’s launch?
Remember the horrible decisions they made with the free trial version giving 3 rotating civs?
Remember the announcement and cancellation of the DLC and end of support without any honest response?

All they have done with the game are on purpose

It wasn’t nearly as bad as it could have been. software grows more complex every day, launching software is a very dangerous endeavor.

They clearly had a plan to monetize the game somehow, using this free trial. But someone pulled the plug too early and we never saw the conclusion.

That can be forgiven. It was a time of lockdown.
