Cassandra?
Scorpion King reference?
Greek mythology reference. Cassandra was a Trojan princess blessed by Apollo to know the future but cursed that no one would believe her. She famously knew that the Greeks were in the Trojan horse and tried to alert the Trojans to the threat. She also predicted the murders of Agamemnon and herself by Agamemnon’s wife, Clytemnestra, after being captured by the Greeks.
Just as a casual reminder to the World’s Edge team (not that I think you’ll actually read this), I am completely boycotting AOM now and will not buy the Immortal Pillars DLC nor even touch AOM unless AOE3’s abandonment is reversed, and I know the wider community AOE3 will similarly boycott.
Been boycotting this since before it was cool bro.
Same here. I’ll just boot up AoM Remastered with Tale of the Dragon with the awful Chinese for about 30 mins then come back to AoE3.
Surprising and unexpected! They added the BANG_Documentation for AoMR. This contradicts the fact that they don’t want to do something like that for AoE3DE
Me too. Although I am Chinese and an Age of Mythology player, I will never buy any content managed by The World’s Edge, including the Chinese Civilization DLC, until the AGE3 community gets a proper response, because I don’t want to use my own money to pay salaries to those who deceive and humiliate us.
This keeps on circling back
What do you mean with this?
Now the top thread of all time on these forums. Are you watching @WE?
You don’t even need to make a DLC, just patch the game to fix the most egregious bugs with cards, units, techs, etc.
Make sure you actually put some QA people on the game for a couple weeks and have a PUP.
Since news is dead i vote we pin this instead for the forum.
I know it’s unrealistic and naive, but I still can’t bring myself to accept that the game will stop receiving DLCs. We must keep pushing, even if it doesn’t help.
While I understand the reason for the replacement, because in my opinion it is stupid to make important decisions dancing around a bonfire, the replacement (the plaza) is not much better. I don’t want to get off topic, but I think there could have been a little more creativity.
I just want some supportive work for AoE3 - bugfixes and proper QoL updates would incredibly appreciated at this point. More so than DLC.
At least with some kind of regular updates, it doesn’t completely snuff the flame on a DLC further down the line…
Imagine getting 22-to-1 ratioed.
I understand that this is off-topic, but for statistics, amazing news:
EA opened sources codes for the “Command & Conquer” games.
Ubisoft approval give source code to modmakers of the “Dark Messiah”.
Both giant company (like Microsoft) decided to do something nice for fans and improved their reputation for it, and no only…
Request to Microsoft - please give the fans a pleasant surprise, there is nothing wrong with that. I know you won’t hear me, but I keep pushing.
There’s a lot of things World’s Edge could do for us with minimal cost. But apparently we aren’t even worth the barest effort. They truly do not care about AOE3 fans all, and it speaks volumes about what they really think about the franchise fan base.
nobody is open sourcing game code that is under 15 years old, not only because the code is still useful and secret but also because newer games are full of complex license agreements, the idea of “open source” aoe3 is unrealistic by any standard, it’s not even worth contemplating
AOE3 Legacy have a 20 years old!
Yep but they most likely won’t go open source given AoM exists. There’s surely some overlap in the code between both games.
Both games are on the same engine, so yeah, ain’t no way it ever gonna happen.
