Since the event skin pineapple bush is also in the dlc other stuff like orange bush pumkin farms saffron farms rainedeer should/could also become real assets with some changes.
Malayan Tapir : someone mention the Malayan Tapir, good idea the south american tapir just nedd a reskin, easy to make.
Penguin : the penguin in the game is not very usefull because this is Crested penguin. These genus (Eudyptes ) of penguins live in area outside of the game very in the south of the world except for one species in New Zealand if one day an oceanian DLC is added. A better option will be a penguin of the banded penguins, these genus (Spheniscus) have species who live in region already in the game : the southern tip of Africa , the western coast of South America and the southern tip of South America.
Amphibian animal
Here I already made a proposal for amhibian animal and now there is one in the upcoming The Last Chieftains DLC, the snake (some Youtube video show him moving freely between land and water). Good work !
Now we can add a version for Crocodile and Hippopotamus . Maybe Sea Lion, Walrus, Penguin
Decorative animal object
We have already 3 of these object in the game : the panda rock, Nessie, the Howler Monkeys. here some proposal.
Beaver hut. Some beaver on the top of, their hut. On of them can go swim and then return on his hut
Beaver dam : not an animated object but can be good as a scenario editor object. Any beaver on him. he block the movement of the water unit but allow land unit to walk on him. Can be destroyed if attacked.
Comoran fisher : the same as the fisher of AoE3 chinese, can be a decoration object or a replacement for fishing ship.
Ducks on water
Eagle nest. An eagle in is nest. He take over fly near is nest and then return in his nest. the nest can be on top of a tree or on a cliff.
Great auk rock : some Great auk on a rock, some of them can go to the water and then return to the rock
Penguin rock : same as the precedent but with penguin
Sea lion rock : same as the precedent but with sea lion
Ibex rock : some ibex on a rock, some of them fight themselves.
Iceberg seal : Some seals are on an iceberg, some of them go in the water, swim a little and then return on the iceberg.
Japanese macaque in hot spring
Orca : some orca who breath at the surface of water
Sea otter : sea otter in kelp like those of AoE3. Can also be a gold animal.
Vultures carrion : a carrion and some vulture who feed on her. Another vultures are in the sky, flying around the carrion
Wandering water animal
There is already many type of decorative animal like these, there are the flying birds. Just make a new type of animal who wander but not in the sky, only in water.
It would have been cool if the whale function like this.
Yes, Age of Empires 3 has many animals, and sometimes they simply reuse names for animals that arenāt exactly like thatā¦
Yes, whales and fish should have animations like that⦠and eventually add predators like on land, but in the water: orcas and sharks like in the Asian maps of AoE 3ā¦
You dont really need more animations as the fish would not be visibile underwater, whale can be a preadator too like mobi dick story.
Yes, youāre right⦠but it was to mix things up a bit and not just have whales as predators, since whales themselves arenāt predators, as they only eat plankton⦠you can have whales and also orcas as their natural predatorsā¦
As I said in another thread:
This has been a thing for a while.
I think this has been a thing since the update accompanying TTK
Seriously? What animals then? I missed that.
Even the og game had wolves charging at you.
Bigger animals have more HP (barely). Rhinos and elephants attack faster. Komodos deal poison/bleed damage.
That I know.
I had this in mind, along with charging attacks.
IIRC wolves only had one sprite for running and another for attack, not a charge attack like Coustillierās. But I confess I never paid much attention to animals.
Oh wellā¦
Hope this is temporary, and that cheetahs and at least some of the other animals from the list will get distinct models in the future. Partly exist in other Age games, but there has not been a cheetah so far. As a predator, it could be less likely to attack, but run faster than the other ones. A āTame Cheetahā or āHunting Cheetahā unit in the editor would also make sense, they have been tamed since ancient times.
Now that thereās an actual monkey model (as part of Howling Monkeys eye candy), I wish it would be used for the harmless āMonkeyā unit instead of the chimp (Furious). The latter could be used for an animal named āApeā or āChimpanzeeā instead.
Great stuff. ES already planned something like this for AoE1 (as implied by an unused swimming Alligator), now it finally works. Looking forward to hippos. Maybe there could even be swimming human unitsā¦
Speaking of AoE1, the new flora and fauna and some other objects were also added to RoR. While good olā Artifact was added to base game (as āTreasure Chestā).
AoE3 has quite a few of those. But while those longer animations involving pandas and monkeys are very nice, I wish such eye candy objects would also exist for humans, like entertainers performing or people conversing. AoE3 offers a lot of decorative human models, too.
I think cheetahs and the maned wolf I keep requesting could work like foxes
Or like wild camels and horses
Could be sign of an african themed dlc in future.
Yes, in AoE 3 the native posts really bring the maps to life. In AoE 2, treasures arenāt as essential, but you could put Predators guarding relics and even destroyed buildings or Roman ruins in others⦠On the Oasis and Nile Delta maps, you could place pyramids in some locations and in Italy a destroyed Colosseum near the center of the mapā¦
Whale need appear in nomad map too, wait for long time let can see it, but just can look at some map sadly
Oysters still go pretty much unused, both in maps and in campaigns
What is the point in it not being restricted to Chronicles if it doesnāt see any use either way?
