Any news about AOE3DE?

The silence of the past months is too hard to handle. Not even the Community Managers talk with us :frowning:

I’ve said it several times. Even for an end of support, WE’s handling and followup are still the UGLIEST I have ever seen.

Lied. Messed up. Didn’t apologize. Didn’t clean up their own mess. Gaslit the users. Then ignore us for their own mistakes like it’s our fault.

An end of support without even a small patch to fix bugs and stabilize things before they leave.

Btw, Isn’t an end of support patch an industry standard? Or am I just out of touch?

Shills be like: it’s not a hard standard it’s very difficult they have a lot of things going on you don’t understand you are expecting the wrong thing it’s totally your fault

Anyway, just wanted to confirm. I don’t play a ton of different games, so I haven’t been around for a ton of cancellations.

To be fair it’s really not a hard standard. Rarely are things true hard standards.

But that does NOT exempt them from being verbally criticized
For example, no regulation has ever enforced an online pvp game to include reconnection features. However it will still damage your reputation if you don’t have one.
You are not legally bound to everything you mentioned in interviews or podcasts either. But it still harm your credibility if you deliberately tease something then deliver something else.

But then they are always people who keep blurring the boundaries to help them get away.

They don’t converse because:

  1. They know they’ll be met with hostility, for good reason.
  2. There is nothing to say. No news. The game is abandoned.
  3. They don’t care. AoE3 isn’t part of the Age franchise.

And they act like they blame it on us

It’s probably these two…although they recently announced the Louvre event in the AoE 3 Steam community…obviously people told them everything except “how great”…

Louvre talked more about 3DE than WE did.

Which brings us to the 3rd possibility.

Yeah, how ironic…and more ironic since is a medieval event…

“WE is dedicated to (medieval, popular, nostalgic, and the part that sells whacky DLC and trash mobile) history”

Exactly. Even for buring the game in the grave they have done the worst job ever

And Banning and Blocking and Ignoring

Not really.
and the servers are still up, this is way more than what most of the games get.

This is a game with ~5000 concurrent players. Closing the server would be really stupid. Many smaller games could persist

But the game had a few years of okay-ish support (from the devs, not WE’s PR and communication), yet they turned the end from a potentially honorable (at least benign) one to an extremely humiliating one.

Where is AOE3?
Answer is obvious.

You mean AOE Mobile PC, the shining new PC porting of the rebranding of an old failed mobile cashgrab by Tencent which is in turn just a reskin of the many SLGs out there that everyone is expecting

Yes, they literally traded us for a f… mobile game that is simply Rise of Kingdoms 2.0…
