Did the devs recently change the requirement to be listed on the ladder? It’s gone from ~4000 to ~3000 players.
Some people may have stopped playing when aoe4 came out and I think it takes about a month of inactivity for the names to disappear off the leaderboard.

I was hoping it wasn’t just a decrease in numbers…
I’ve gone from an avg 600 rank to a 350 the past few weeks. My elo is about the same hovering slightly under 1400. Less players about.
