AOE-V should be based on AOE-3

The same, they are civs of the eighteenth century (USA) and the XIX related to the Napoleonic wars, so I don’t see it bad either…

The same could apply to AoE 1 with Egyptians from Ancient Egypt and the Romans of the Empire, or in AoE 2 with Huns and Spanish conquistadors fighting against Aztecs and Incas…

But the point is that there were no abysmal differences technologically, such as between the Romans and the Sumerians.

I consider that the differences between an empire from the beginning of the 16th century is much more different than one from the beginning of the 18th century or the end of the 17th century.

Also for an empire to be able to advance through the ages (which is basically what AOE is about), it should at least be at least 2-3 centuries old, (in the case of AOE-3). (It is just my opinion).

The other AOE games I think have a range of more than 1000 years and it is very difficult for some empires or nations to converge in time, but in the case of AOE-3 it is not so difficult, but in AOE-3 it represents a period of high technological innovations and scientific knowledge, with a much more veiled arms race. That is why an empire like the US seems too advanced and late in comparison, such as Italy.

Of course good point… if they are Aztecs and Incas, I do not see the problem that there are Mexicans or Brazilians too…it is also to give greater variety to the game and as long as it is in accordance with the chronology that matters which civ is…

Not necessarily… it can be like empire earth 1,edotmw and ee2,rise of nations or if you go more recent in the gaming world,1914-1918:Battle of Empires, although the last one would be more a RTT…
