Here is the problem I’m experiencing…
When I click play i am greeted by aoe3:DE splash screen and it goes to full black screen and crashes within 2 seconds.

Here’s the steps to reproduce the issue:

  1. Install beta AOE3:DE
  2. Launch from Steam
    3.Or from exe

Tried everything from the page still the issue remains.
The first closed beta program for the game worked fine for me but I want to try this before buying the game

Hey there,

When you launch the game, do you see the the studio videos for Xbox Studios, Tantalus and Forgotten Empires, and then crashing? Or are you crashing before those videos?

Thanks for the clarification! Can you try re-installing your C++ Redistributables and the Windows Media Pack? Steps are outlined in the below article.

Still no luck, game goes into black screen and quits after this splash screen.
