Awesome news today from Gamescom, in addition to AOE4 we get AOE3 remade!!!
There is going to be a lot of questions regarding on what is going to be reworked, New engine for the graphics? Balance issues? New MP system linked to Xbox? What is going to happend with old ESO players database?
Needs a balance update and a 2v2 premade team quick matcher. If this is included, I would buy again.
i cant wait thats for sure, im hoping for more maps and more balanced game.

I’m diarouga on Age Of Empires III, and currently I’m amoung the top players of AOE3.
I heard that Microsoft was going to patch the game after 9 years! I don’t know who is going to do that but you should know that regarding balance, we’ve made a Fan Patch fixing the main balance issues and the crazy amount of bugs AOE III has.

This is awesome. I have to admit I had lost hope that a new Age of Empires game would be made one day. Or that AGE3 would be remastered.
We, the community of Age3, have so much knowledge about the game, if you need help to test and improve the re-mastered version, just let us know where we can enrol. I already joined the beta.
We have lots of suggestions to make, things that need to be fixed in AoE3 to improve the game. The official patch, the last patch made by Robot Entertainment, is plagued by widespread cheating, imbalanced maps, imbalanced civs, as well as game bugs.
The AOE3 community (called ESO-C) has already made a balance patch, the result of many months of playtesting and gradual adjustments made to the game to bring each civ closer to each other, without compromising each civ’s unique features.
I hope Microsoft will take our feedback into account when they develop the remastered version of AOE3, because this can save them a lot of time and money, if they just listen to the people who know the game very well and know what needs to be improved.
Yes, I think it’s safe to say that all the best aoe III players consider the ESOC Patch more interesting game-wise, as well as better balanced.
It is indeed some months of balance testing and we’ve played several tournaments on this Patch.
Hopefully they will contact the small but very hardworking AoE3 community. They actually made more than one fan patch through the years, so they tested and tested again features on multiplayer many times, patching the patches that they did to solve problems on the last AoE3 official patch. They have a lot to discuss regarding balance and game play.
also, please, someone fix the weird cards or extremely useless cards. European nations has a ton of noticeable “unattractive” cards, doesn’t matter the occasion/map.
Crazy news, I have to say I really wasn’t expecting it.
This could be a great thing for the game. Even if the only change would be making ESOC-Patch the official patch of the game, it would add so much polish.
I don’t know yet what the scope of this remaster will be, but I’m looking forward to finding out.
Please do not make any fan patch mentioned above up as an official for the upcoming edition. The esoc fan patch is played by 1% of players and there is some major changes that affecting gameplay which bad. I hope you just fix bugs and add anti cheat and improve graphics with sound.
Also I want to say here that community has 2 different Patches for gameplay for two different game modes.
Amazing news !!! I don’t think anyone in the community expected this. I will be waiting to see more news of what is in store for the game !

First, contatulations over the efforts to make aoe3 de, hope the reults are a better game!
Second, diarouga is complaining? hmm, either they didnt contacted the esoc team at all or this very team cant say anything due to NDA.
In the first case, its incomprehensibly unnacceptable, they dont contact anyone from esoc team, players that improved the game without stealing its nature, made more maps, made several tournaments, improved stats and made possible the game not to die, without them, aoe3 would (most probably) have less players then cossacs.
Its incomprehensible to speak only about aoe1&2 on the stream and not on the 3rd, and not taking into consideration the esoc team that worked all this time.
Just like aoe2 has new content over time, AOE3 desearves a new patch with new nations (either austria/prussia/poland or african nations), but aoe 3 is not aoe2 with easier grafics to create units, it will need effort from dev team.
Please aoe community management team, dont sit behind market projections and community poll results and decide for us. Take into consideration the players, not only the 1% that play esoc patch, but more. Dont think im gonna buy aoe3de for 50 euro, forget it! aoe3 already has good grafics and balance.
And above all, dont underestimate the community!

It sounds like you want them to consider the community’s opinion, but on the other hand, you don’t want them to hear the opinion of top players, people who have been playing for years, more than 10 thousands games, and surely know better what’s wrong about the game

its not 1%. There are in average 900 people online and about 100 of them are EP Player. Many people dont even know about this patch. If it would be an official Patch everybody would play on it while being happy about it and not complaining at all. I am new to AoE3 but the balance on the EP is really much better than on the normal patch. Also the maps are great. I guess you dont even know anything about EP.

The only reason it’s not played by more players is because people are too comfortable to switch from the official one, or are unaware EP even exists. Also EP does have anti-cheat and fixes a ton of bugs in the game. The balance changes for standard supremacy mode are minimal and keep with the spirit of the original game; even things like +5hp on a unit are being carefully considered in the grand scheme of things.

All of the community that plays the game as a right of opinion, that is the point, and how do they get that? here making polls and waiting for people to show on this forum? bah, you know better then me that the community has moved on, and they dont understand it in any way, i wonder if they know what discord is…

All the community that plays the game will indeed have a right of opinion if MS decides to listen to the community.
What I wanted to say, is that 90% of the people I’ve talked with think that the EP is more balanced than the RE. I don’t talk to pr10- very often but I guess that for them I’d make no difference as the changes are quite small.
It’s incredible good news for every AoE3 fan and for the whole Age of Empires community! 11 years after its launch in 2005 is late, but hey… we should be happy to see they still care about this awesome game! I’m happy to see bugs being fixed, ESO getting a fresh update, balance changes (the AoE3 community is even playing on its own patch called EP) and some visual updates!
I hope it will be an awesome update! I’ll definitely stay tuned
