Kings of the Old World
AOE3 1v1 Supremacy Tournament

ESOC, in partnership with the Royal Clan and UEC, is excited to announce the largest and most prestigious event in the history of the website, and the largest prize pool for an AoE3 event since 2008. Kings of the Old World, sponsored by Microsoft, is a 1v1 Supremacy tournament coming in July. The event, focused on showcasing the Knights of the Mediterranean DLC, will feature an open qualification system where eight players will emerge to challenge for the title. More details will be released soon, but in the meantime if anyone is interested in helping support the event with admin or other duties, please send me a message or drop a note here. All donations that ESOC receives during the event will go towards the prize pool, and will show our generous sponsors at Microsoft that the AOE3 community belongs on the big stage and we can continue to support large events.

If we want AoE3 not to be mistreated like in the past or when it comes to not being included in other tournaments, the community should go watch one, starting by supporting the game on the Twitch streaming platform and its greatest exponents (even if you don’t play competitively).

Yes, in this we must forget old quarrels and do everything to support the tournament,so we imply to Microsoft that we also exist and so they take us into consideration for the next RBW next year…

Important Information

Civs
In a Best of 5, you must use one of :Flag_Italian: Italians or :Flag_Maltese: Maltese in at least 1 game to win.

Each player will have a map ban. The higher seed will ban one map from the pool first, followed by the lower seeded player. Those maps will be removed from the pool and the remaining maps in the order they are listed.

Civs may not be repeated, at the beginning of the series players will ban a civilization that will not be allowed for either player, and before each game you will blind pick which civ you use.

Special Rules:
Crabats are banned from use.
Desert Cav are banned from use.
Barbary States revolution is banned from use.

Format

The GSL Format will play as follows:

Example of Group A:

Match 1: Seed 1 vs Seed 16
Match 2: Seed 8 vs Seed 9
Match 3: Winner of Match 1 vs Winner of Match 2
Match 4: Loser of Match 1 vs Loser of Match 2
Match 5: Loser of Match 3 vs Winner of Match 4

The winners of match 3 and match 5 will qualify for the bracket stage.
