peak numbers will always be higher for newer games in general because world is getting richer, more people have access to computer, better internet, games etc

The biggest problem for the game right now is that the update has had little impact on the AoE 4 player count as a percentage of AoE 2 DE player count. This is why people were asking them to delay the release of the game when they saw how bad the tech stress test was, we always knew it would be hard to win players back if the initially launched version was bad.

Treasures in the figurative sense, could be bandit camps as in the second Norman and third French mission, that if you want you can attack them and give you two options: spare the lives of the bandits and join your army, not occupying population (similar to the natives of aoe 3) or destroy the camp and loot the resources stored in the chests (as currently happens in both missions), you can also have wolves shelter treasures inside caverns similar to those in aoe 3…then you would do the missions and the multiplayer games more dynamic,similar to those that aoe 3 has…

Yes, although even with aoe online the saga came well, then castle siege came out in 2014 and everything began to go down and microsoft began to milk aoe 2 from 2015 onward as if there were no tomorrow and with aoe 4 wants to do the same, instead of letting the saga follow its logical historical course…
