AOM gold cd not running on windows 10

Issue:

I have an AOM Gold Edition cd that has worked perfectly in the past. Now I have Windows 10. I installed the game, no problems. But when I try to play it, nothing happens. I have tried running it in different compatibility modes and as administrator. Nothing happens. I know there are no cd patches which worked perfectly on my AOE 2 games.

Reproduction Steps:

  1. Install cd on PC with Windows 10.
  2. Try running the game.
