When you see a pro game nowadays, most people say “gg” even if they could continue, and maybe, just maybe, win the game.
I’ve seen so many amazing comebacks in the early days… There was a site called MrFixitOnline which had a lot of replay games, and some comebacks in those replays were just out of this world. Great stuff.
Is it just me or nobody tries to make a comeback nowadays? Or is it just because the game changed so much? Or people had more time?
i think one reason is people got better and games got mor snowbally. but i also think civ stronger civ bonus can causes uncounterable overwehlmingly strong siations too.
That’s a very long time ago when it was just Huns war Arabia or Viking war hybrid maps. Nowadays its a combination of things. People have gotten better at being patient and carrying their advantage forward instead of trying to rush the win. Comebacks still happen when players do something like that. Vinchester vs Margougou series from KOTD-5 had some comebacks, Liereyy vs Hera NAC4 finals Burmese vs Berbers game on golden lakes was a comeback. In many closed map games, a single technology has caused some comebacks like Artillery, Warwolf, Houfnice upgrade or Flemish revolution.
