Ashigaru Hand Attack vs Shock Infantry

:arrow_forward: ISSUE EXPERIENCED

 DESCRIBE THE ISSUE IN DETAIL (below). LIMIT TO ONE BUG PER THREAD.

Ashigaru has only x2 multiplier vs shock infantry while it has x3.5 against cavalry.
So, Ashigaru only deals 57% of melee damage against shock infantry compared with cav units.
Usually, heavy infantries deal 70~75% of damage against shock infantries in melee compared with cav units.

There was a similar issue with Qiang Pikeman in TAD, but that was fixed upon the release of DE. This inconsistency with Ashigaru’s hand attack also existed in TAD but hasn’t been touched, while the Age 3 Close Combat card was fixed to increase hand attack vs shock infantry. Also Ashi has a pretty high ranged attack while typical melee shock infantry has lower ranged resistance. So I’m not sure if this is a balance decision or not.

Personally, I prefer this fixed because it will eliminate the inconsistency, and Ashigaru in age 2 seems to struggle a lot against Coyote Runners. Perhaps lowering the bonus multiplier from Close Combat and increasing the initial attack multiplier is the best solution.
