Well, you can use two shades of brown, I don’t know how to say it… light brown for Americans and a darker brown for Indians and Africans with black skin…
this would have to be done well to work. I don’t trust the current devs to do this. especially the recent water additions make me doubt that they value unit readability at all.

Yes, it still bothers me that the American civs keep using crossbowmen and arbalesters… I would replace the crossbowmen and arbalesters with champion and legendary archers like in AoE 3… then it would just be a matter of making 2 more skins for the common archer…
Or it could be just one unit,Champi line is 4 units and not 5 like the generic milita line so loosing one is not a big deal.
