Someone on the dev team seems to have a fundamental misunderstanding of what the word “speed” means.
Speed is a rate.
For example miles per hour (m/h), or maybe even hotdogs per minute (hdogs/m) if you’re in an eating contest.
It is always distance or occurrence or whatever is being measured, divided by time.
So for our purposes Attack Speed would be attacks PER second.

However, throughout the tooltips the game uses the term “Attack Speed” in an incorrect manner:

None of these are speeds. They are the time between attacks, or the “attack interval”, or even “attack time”, or whatever logical term you want to use, but definitely NOT speed (although I’m not sure what the charge attack time actually means).
This is extremely misleading in the tooltips because a 2.12 attack speed should imply that 2.12 attacks are occurring per second, NOT that one attack is occurring every 2.12 seconds.
These are not interchangeable terms, it’s not a preference thing, it’s just straight up wrong the way it is now.
