There is more than arabia in ranked. Btw Sicilians have a pretty average wr. Not the best but not the worst.
Thatâs the tradition being followed since ages you cannot question. Period.

Longswords are meant to counter eagles but most the time people just go knights. So infantry doesnât even do what itâs supposed to do. Unless you think, the militia line is only supposed to be used in the first 10 minutes of the game and post imperial.
Even infantry civs donât play infantry in feudal or castle age because itâs so easily countered. Teuton, viking, goth all go xbow in high level games.
Lots of infantry UU are fine but in general the militia line is unused.

Only Longswords but in imperial two handed swords and champions become more common, especially on arena
Militia line is food intensive and early you need food for villagers, scouts cost more food but they can go early to the enemy due to mobility.
btw I once lost to Malian and Celts Longsword +siege+ monk push on arabia, donât underestimate that.

wow i was a whole 1% off. actually less then that. they are sitting at around 48.5% winrate on that with a sub 2% playrate. nothing in EITHER of those stats say nerf me.
and no. i never said they were the worst civ. just that they were nerfed when the stats show they were average at best. if you were talking about gurjaras or Mayans i could see nerfing them without compensation because they have a MUCH HIGHER WINRATE. but nerfing a civ sitting at 49% winrate pre nerf and saying âitâs fine?â nah man. they deserve some love elsewhere. Same with Koreans and a few other civs.

Like if sicilians loosing treadmill and 27% of the bonus resistance is gonna throw them to bottom tier. I would be more worried for the britons and ethiopians with the xbow nerfs.
no, but itâs generally not sound advice to nerf civs that arenât even breaking 50% winrate.
lol what? worried about Britons? you gotta be kidding me right? they are easily top 2 archer civs in the game. and arguably the best when it comes to team games.

Thats a huge nerf, more than a -27%. Knights will be far better now and, you know what? Sicilians is a cavalry civ.
and sicilian cavalry just got hit HARDER then that 1 time cost increase. think about it.
the actual POWER Archers didnât get hit AT ALL. all that was done was taking TWO SUPER CHEAP UPGRADES and make them SLIGHTLY more expensive.
are Crossbows going to have any different damage output or survival now then they did before? no.
are they going to cost slightly more? yes.
Fast imperial+ arbalest will be harder considering you normally have a bad eco. In addition, xbows will be harder to get and knights arent hidden under a expensive tech.

First of all xbow isnt an expensive tech, even post nerf.
Second of all knights are lovked behind a HIGH INDIVIDUAL COST and requiring castle age. Meanwhile xbows are not only dirt cheap individualy, but can be massed from feudal.
