Bohemians shouldn't have champions

Bohemian is the strongest and moat annoying civ to deal with on closed maps. They dont have a weakness and has a good counter to everything. Just like Poles which were introduced together with it, but poles has some sort of weakness to mass ranged unit because the cavs don’t have armour. However bohemian HC+halbs are already much beyond average, they smoke all infantry and cavs. And houfnice obliterate all siege and buildings. They need to have some weakness to some units. They don’t have good cavs so they are supposed to be bad vs skirms. Opponent need to use skirms to deal with HC+halbs, and some other unit potentially deal with the houfnices. Bohemian get champion means they have a good answer to skirm as well. They are too well rounded and has no weakness at all.

How about Hussite Wagon

Yes the hussite wagon makes sure they are not weak vs ranged units either. So their roster is so complete doesn’t need champion.

Ironically because Bohemians are so ‘complete’, I don’t even think taking away Champions has any effect on them. 11

Maybe we should focus in nerf them elsewhere instead take off champion which is irrelevant compared with the others options Bohemians have. Isn’t it?
What if halb upgrade is removed and the damage bonus is staggered but buffed in imperial age? Something like 10/20/30% more bonus damage instead of flat 25%

Yeah but they’re a weak 1v1 open map civ. So how do you nerf them without making them an unplayable open map civ?

Remove halb is interesting. Keep the extra bonus damage so their pikeman can do a lot of damage as well to cavs.

Champions aren’t even a part what makes Bohemians soo strong on closed maps, Bohemians are also lacking Gambesons.
The nerf has to target their main power unit on closed maps (Houfnice), and is by removing Siege Engineers and buffing Elite Hussite Wagon range from 6 to 7, is also anerf that won’t impact them on open maps.

If you really think Bohemians are too well rounded then what about Poles on closed maps (With 2 eco bonuses, cost effective cavalry, usable ranged units, fine siege weapons, strong UU, even good Monks???)

They are not the strongest. Turks, Poles, Burgundians, Portugese are all equally competent. And closed map is the only category where they are good. Houfnice is good but takes 2k resources and 3 mins to upgrade, not something that comes for free. Negligible eco bonuses for the early game and eco becomes solid only from the time you add 10+ vills on gold which is like mid castle age. Any more nerfs to the civ, and they’ll not be useful even on closed maps. They will become one of those civs which are unplayable and never picked.
