Bombard rework suggestions

Has i see it:

  • Siege weapon sould be a mobile building, that some units can manipulate.

  • To move siege weapon, Land units can push it or cavalery units can pull it whit horse, for extra speed in exchange of a longer preparation time.

  • Wooden siege weapons are easely set on fire by torch or fire arrow.

  • The units manipulate the siege to fire weapon, target and try to put out fire. All of it affect reload time.

  • units that manipulate siege, can be hit by arrow and sword.

  • canon are imune to fire arrow since it is all metal, but explode when a crew rig it.

Trebs would be good if you didnā€™t have bombards just an age away

That is the problem, you compare trebs with Bombards and, of course.
They have slow attackā€¦ Logic.
They are not accurate vs human unitsā€¦ Logic
They have a low movementā€¦ Logic xD.

The problem is the bombard. That unit is crazy.

once a unit starts to torch the bombard it should basically be unable to move or fire until attacking unit is dealt with. If I manage to get units in amongst your bombard blob it should be as good as dead. Not speeding off or firing point blank.

edit: I feel like trebuchets are the standard of balance siege should be aiming for.

Trebuchet would be better if the price and ROF were lowered somewhat. Bombard is not bad, but the siege in general that needs less speed except for RAM and Trebuchet.

It sure would seem like a fair thing for bombards to be stunned by torches. It would add an extra dynamic to stopping them. Allowing archers to have a bonus against them would also help to mitigate the threat a bit.

Iā€™d not like to see bombards become too weak, considering their high cost. They ought to melt lots of things if youā€™ve amassed three or more. If they do too little damage or move too slow or fire too slowly, they may become less useful than their price merits.

Trebuchets are definitely something that need help in this game. 500 flat dmg per hit on buildings with a proximity-to-center multiplayer that allows them to deal more damage depending upon the accuracy of the projectile.

Trebuchet are not all that powerfull.

They needed to hit the same spot several time befor the building start having serious damage.

You were lucky if you made a hole in the wall, but the wall did not always fall.

It was not rare to see trebuchet and bombard used at the same time, for diferent task.

Trebuched can even be use to trow a fuse bomb, that do the exact same damage then a bombard, if the fuse bomb get stuck in the wall, hole, made previously by trowed stone projectile.

The clasic was to trow cow, to make the enemy live in hell, whit infestation and parasite.

The trebuchet could also fire a ball of oil and straw, to make buildings burn or to spread a line of fire on the enemy troups, has the ball roll in the enemy position.

various projectives for a treb to shoot would make for some interesting tactics!

Using the diseased cow principle to create zone denial!

Maybe use sheep, since it is already in game.

sheep are all eaten earlyā€¦ but it does not really matter what they use

the game needs more biodiversity anyway. I have seen like wolves, hawk, sheep. what else am I missing?

Fish and dead body can also do the job.

It would be super demoralisation to trow humain meat to a starving enemy.

Also, fish can be very effective, since alot of people have allergies to it, but it was ignored at the time.
