I disagree. I think it’s a nice bonus for civs that are weak vs monks. For example: elephant civs.
There are 45 civs. There are tons of match ups. Up to including two of the same civ. This gets really crazy when it’s 4v4. There’s a good chance a player won’t be picking Teutons. So many games won’t even a have a Teutons player.
I think team conversion resistance is fine, as team games quickly explodes in army size, which make the monk play less attractive anyways. Monks still have good counters other than monks.
I am fine exchanging monk conversion for free murder holes, I just think it is not needed. So I d rather keep the ecisting behavior.
But speaking about obnoxious team bonuses, can we talk about the spanish +25% gold per trade ? This is the equivalent of +10 population per teamate on a civ stacked with top tier late game power for land warfare and for water warfare. It is so strong that Spanish is a must have (along with Bohemians) in any team game with low emphasis on Feudal war.
We could tell the same about Italians that prevent any opponents to play HC… Which is kind of annoying.
Especially when see how crap are some other team bonuses.
