Break even point (bombard healing idea)

Suppose there were an upgrade that allowed monks to heal bombard crews.

How expensive would it have to be to not be worth researching it?

1000 food + 1000 gold?

3000 gold?

10,000 gold?

How much gold would the ability to heal bombards be worth to you? Remember, all this is doing is letting monks do the job of villagers here. Technically, since your cutting villagers from your army, you lose quite a bit of utility due to no building construction, and your not getting much in return (just free bombard healing). Also, a vil team of 4 is 200 food. So not worth that much. That said, would this be an op thing to research given that bombards cost wood and gold to heal, and how much would it have to cost for you to choose not to research it?

No more than a few hundred resources, it’s really not going to pay for itself usually. Because to repair a Bombard from 1 HP to full HP takes roughly 110 wood and 110 gold (spending vil time to repair at this stage of the game is irrelevant basically), you’d need to heal a ridiculous amount of HP to get anywhere near breaking even with the costs in your idea.
