Greeks ability to cast bronze, then restoration, then bronze again means you can’t take any fights. You have to run away, then he takes down your TC and farms because bronze is unbeatable, then you come back and he casts restoration, then he casts bronze again. What am I supposed to do? If I keep running away I lose all of my infrastructure. And these aren’t even mythic age powers. I asked my opponent about it and he said ‘yeah its OP, I do it so I can win all of the time.’ I don’t feel that it is in any way in line with any of the other god powers for classical and heroic. Frost is OP too, but there is no one two combo and also Norse cant just stick a ton of villagers on a temple and forget it.

Its is strong and thats why it was nerfed several times. Theres different ways each civ can deal with it its not a 100% fool proof strategy. As for the comparison for other god powers. Norse has frost that straight out counters it. Flaming weapons competes with it. China has either fei beast or forest protection to hold a position. Eggy doesnt really have a heroic power thats as strong but they can definately kite around or apply preassure to svoid facing that situation. Same for atty.
As for the favor, its not a free trade. If he puts 10 vills to pray they are not gathering other resources. Your should get ahead in something in return. Either a faster age up, more army or a push.
Theres also gameplay desicions. You cant just let an opponent get a timing for free and then wonder why you cant deal with that timing. Preassure, him, raid him or tech depending on the situation, theres always something to do.

So what can one do when he is attacking your home base? If you don’t attack him over the period of 2 bronzes and two restorations, he can take down everything in that time. If you attack him you lose your army and then he takes down everything anyway. And, you can’t counter bronze followed by restoration followed by bronze followed by restoration with any single power or combination of powers from any other god.
It depends, we can talk about a particular scenario if you want but theres no clear cut solution that works for all civs at any moment in all maps.
But yea, you wont win a fight vs bronze + restoration most of the time with equal armies. Its your objective to not let it reach that point.
Either raid so he cant preassure early or looses villagers so your ahead on eco.
Bait ti, have a more mobile army, fake a fight at his base and run away when resto is used
Have a defensive setup, be if many counter units, building placement, your own god powers, depending on what god you are playing.
Well yea, you cant beat 4 uses of godpowers with just 1, would be kinda insane, but you can definately counter it once or lessen its power with many gods. Can shifting sands out of it if you are fighting closer to his base. Underwolrd out, vanish with china, frost it. Flamming weapons, forest protection, cease fire.
For sure you are right, if you get into a scenario where he has the same army you do, hes at the same age you are, same villagers you are and for some reason he has 100+ more favor then you, you are not gonna win that game, but then again, something went wrong way before that.

You didn’t answer the scenario I described. It doesn’t mean he has 100 more favor than me, it doesn’t matter how much favor I have because I don’t have powers that can be used back to back like that to prevent any army from attacking me for so long. Some games do in fact go long enough so that Greek will attack your base at some point with enough favor to pull this stunt. If you have an equal army and equal amount of favor, you lose the game. That’s why it isn’t balanced. Whenever someone says ‘don’t let it get to that point’, it is a sure sign of imbalance.
I answer the scenario you described. You wont beat him if he can chain his godpowers on everyfight and hes equal to you on army.
If he can put several villagers to pray to mass favor (lets be honest, hes not spamming resto with 2-3 villagers praying) and you arent getting ahead in another resources that means that you did something wrong in your macro.
Thats doesnt mean its impossible to win, it meants theres things you should be doing before that happens.
Why would you. He doesnt get favor for free, hes gotta invest into it. If he still has the same eco you have with less villagers you are doing something wrong.
Not it isnt. It means you are playing into his strenghs. Thats like saying i cant beat Hades with Fuxi once he gets 4 plenty vaults, well ofc you wont. Different gods have different timings. Some are stronger earlier, some are stronger when aging up into heroic, some are better in the late game. Some gods have pushing timings where they get spikes in power, usually due to god powers.
You cant play into your opponents strengh and then be dazzled you didnt win.
Listen, i know its easier to belive its unstopable and theres nothing you can do about it. Sadly thts not true, Zeus doesnt have 100% winrate in any elo braket, even if you filter out and only take into account players who go resto and bronze, its not even close to 60%. Theres ways to beat him, People do beat him. You can try looking in aomstats.io for replays of w/e god you play vs Zeus and see how they dealt with it.
