[BUG] Return of Rome Win as the *** achievements do not trigger

The achievements do not trigger after winning a skirmish game as any of the Return of Rome civilisations. Other achievements such as the win by building a wonder achievement seem to work. I have not tested campaign achievements.

I first noticed this bug 3 or 4 days ago when I won a wonder game as the Assyrians on a Regular Map in a skirmish against the AI. I did not have either of the win by building a wonder or win as the Assyrians achievements. At the end of the match I got the achievement for the wonder but I did not get the achievement for winning as the Assyrians. Since then I have tried playing other skirmish matches with various combinations of settings and civs but the achievements do not trigger. Allow cheats setting is always off, cheats have not been used.

  • 100% of the time / matches I play (ALWAYS)
  • The bug always show up when playing skirmish, regardless who I win as or how many times.

:play_button: REPRODUCTION STEPS

:backhand_index_pointing_down: List CLEAR and DETAILED STEPS we can take to reproduce the issue ourselves… Be descriptive!

Here’s the steps to reproduce the issue:

  1. Play a skirmish match, any settings, any difficulty, any win condition, any civ you haven’t unlocked the Win as X achievement with.
  2. Win the skirmish match
  3. Achievement for winning as X does not trigger.

:backhand_index_pointing_down: What was SUPPOSED to happen if the bug you encountered were not present?
The achievement for winning with the Assyirians and Yamato were supposed to trigger when winning the matches.

*Shown in image the achievements have not triggered despite me winning skirmish matches as the Yamato and Assyrians

I do not have a recording as the bug happens after the game is over.

I was having this very same problem and found your post. Then I replayed (as Greeks) and got the achievement. What I did differently was: when the game was over, I stayed on the map, then clicked the menu but instead of quitting the game, I clicked the statistics. At that very same moment the achievement popped. I’ll try it with another civ to see if this was luck, but maybe it can help you.

I’m having a similar issue except just 2 of the “Win a game as the…” achievements wont unlock and the rest unlocked fine. I tried staying on the map longer, going through each of the post-game tabs but nothing seems to work for me.

Edit: I tried again several hours later and they unlocked just fine. I didn’t do anything special.

I don’t know what’s causing this bug, but having my game files checked did not solve it.

yes, this is bugged. I unlocked Egyptians as it was first in the order but cannot unlock Assyrians, Viet, Choson, under the same conditions.
