When playing on a high resolution (like 4k), all the units are very small and hard to distinguish. The classic/panoramic camera doesn’t let us zoom in close enough to fix this. I tried using the free camera mod but it’s not a good solution.
Please let us zoom in closer like the other AOE games! Age 2 and Mythology already have this feature, to allow us to zoom close to our units.

About “zoom in”, i totally agree with you. It has been requested so many times in this community. Many players are casual Who wanna play and see battles more close and seeing details on units.
AOE3de and AOMRE already have this zoom options and they are graphically Beatiful.
Unfortunately developers didn’t add 4k textures for units and this Is the main reason why you are not able to zoom more on the battlefield and units. And there are also other mistakes like “plastic weapons”.
Yes, there’s a “free camera mod” but It’s a mess. You can’t save a skirmish with this mod and it’s a bit hard to control It during the game.
Exactly. The free camera mod is really janky. Why not just let the normal camera zoom in closer?
