I would suggest watching this analysis because I agree completely. Some of the script/narration feels very tone-deaf in Retold, and I really don’t like some of the character voices.

I agree to all of it BUT… I don’t think the Arkantos’ voice works at all. It’s not about the actors performance. He just doesn’t have the voice.

I hate the voice acting changes.
Yeah the voice acting needs to sound like the original, even if its a new voice actor. This is so far off… a huge miss
In all ages they do that… it’s very annoying that they put such dull voices instead of leaving the originals…

No idea why they do that. I could get behind the greek accents, but the delivery was like the actors were just reading it of a script, with no acting involved at all.
When Arkantos said to Kastor “I need you here, in case they come back.” you don’t hear a father worried about the safety of his son. Which is what you should be hearing.

Isn’t the VO of AoE 3 DE still the same?
They only did some small changes to 1 of the campaigns.
Everything else was kept unchanged.
But I think they got the same voice actors for the changed voice lines.
And the voices of the natives what?..
