Campaign Idea: Mehmed II (Turks)

Imho it doesn’t even need to diverge. A single Sclavenians or Illyrians (less accurate but has the possibility of including Albanians) civ to cover all of them would suffice.

My initial reaction to your sayings was one of surprise. Why introduce Sclavenians when we already have Bulgarians? Additionally, Illyrians are an ancient people, with Albanians being their successors. It’s akin to adding Dacians instead of Romanians in Age of Empires 2, which would be more fitting for Age of Empires 1.

In my opinion, these inconsistencies should be addressed. Adding more civilizations in this manner doesn’t seem to be the best approach.

No. This is a totally unnecessary umbrella in the vein of Indians or current Dravidians. It would be lumping a bunch of cultures with entirely separate histories together, and would be very messy.

I don’t know why you don’t want Balkan civs, but you’re in the extreme minority with that.

“Putting Serbs and Croats in the same umbrella is akin to putting together Mughals and Tamils.”
I’m way too gullible.

No reason. I also think it’s unnecessary. But if you really want to add new civs just for that, I’d want them to be as few as possible.

That’s why I said it’s less accurate.

Strictly speaking, Bulgarians, especially the ancient ones, are not purely South Slavs. They also represent the Turkic Bulgar Hordes. I think the later Bulgarians are the descendants of those nomads and the local South Slavs.

The Sclavenians could provide an umbrella for other South Slavs. Although it’s more likely that there won’t be any slots for them.

Since the current Dracula campaign is a mix of Turks, Magyars and Slavs, it would be very appropriate for a DLC including a new Vlach civilization and new campaigns for at least Turks, Magyars and Slavs.

omg, i don’t care what todays politics are, Bosnian kingdom in middle ages was Serbian! Serbs had several kingdoms and duchies, they weren’t united in a single state back then. Who cares what todays ultra-nationalists say. Read the history!

Agree. There is no rule that a only one person can make a custom campaign of a specific figure. Other people can do so as well, just make sure the gameplay is different
