Can the AI use Treaty decks?

Considering treaty decks were just added for all civilizations, can the developers update the AI so the AI to selects these decks?

The AI doesn’t use premade decks.
The AI picks cards when they are in-game / in the loading screen, and always makes themselves a new deck.

wait we can do that? does that mean its possible for players to have random decks?

No like said the AI does that
And the cards are not considered random, they have a value of importance for it.

I know but does it mean its a possible function in the game to do that, like for a mod or something

Maps could probably be able to do that, but I also doubt that, since the homecitys are loaded with the game, and usually can’t be edited while inside the game.

Iirc the American UI was specially made for them, and should be the only that can add techs to the Homecity itself while in-game.

Then maybe the developers should update how the AI picks the cards, since 3 hussars on age2 isn’t useful in 40min treaty?

I do agree with that.

@AssertiveWall20 is a great example to make the AI much more valuable specially on water maps.

That should be fairly straightforward. How exactly do you want unit cards to be chosen? I don’t play treaty very much but I was thinking something like:

  • none until age 4
  • prefer inf and native shipments
  • only send once treaty is within 2 min of ending (might be in there already)

This might apply to all treaty though, so maybe allow age 3 unit shipments? It might be too involved to separate out 10 min, 20 min, etc


So as it turns out the devs have it in there already, but only for treaty longer than 20 minutes (not including 20 min treaty) and it only blocks commerce age unit shipments. It’ll start sending unit shipments within 10 minutes of treaty end.

I’m switching this to include 20 min treaty and to avoid shipping units until 5 minutes before the end of treaty. The next time I update my mod (typically a few days) it’ll be in there.

As AI gets economic boost it should send military upgrades and training time cards

You sure about that? Maybe only on hardest and extreme difficulty? How about I cut their weight in half so they still ship them but mostly just after they ship their other stuff?


That’s in there also now. They’ll still be in the deck but they probably won’t send it unless they are really hurting for that resource. It’ll only apply to Hard and above, and until 5 minutes from the end of treaty.
