Can't rebind "Combined Ability/Train Hotkeys"

  • Game Version: Premium

  • Build Number: v100.18.34798.0

  • Platform: Steam

  • Operating System: Windows 11

Issue:

Can’t rebind “Combined Ability/Train Hotkeys”. I can rebind them in the settings menu, and the new hotkey will be registered; however, nothing changes in-game. So, in the settings I see the new desired key, in game the old default still works. Tried restarting the game after the hotkey change to no avail.

Probably related to this: Combined Hotkeys Will Not Bind

Repro Steps:

  1. Try to rebind them to something else and try using them

Hey!

Thanks for the report!

Unfortunately we are unable to reproduce this, is this issue still occuring?

Hi, thanks for the reply! Yes, I still have the issue. For example, I can’t rebind “Row 1 Colum 1” hotkey, the default is “q” and no matter what I bind it to, or unbind completely, it’s still “q”. The in game hotkey grid (in a TC for example or any building really) will also still show it as “q” even if in the settings it’s something else. The same for “Auto Row 1 Column 1”, which by default is “Alt + q”, no matter what I do it stays the same.

I also notice that ‘issue’ in that section, but, the problem is with the shift+letter hotkeys, is a very strange ‘bug’, because when I remap the alt+letter hotkeys to ctrl+alt+letter it works!, but when I remap the shift+letter hotkeys to alt+shift+letter that only works with the right alt key, because if I use left alt + shift + letter the game recognizes it as ctrl + alt + letter . But that situation only happens with the ‘Combined Ability/Train Hotkeys’ section (in other sections the ‘alt+shift+letter’ hotkeys what I already set work as expected with both left and right alt keys)

I just check and the issue is with the Multiple Row N column N hotkeys.

  1. If you use the ‘ALT’ (ALT, ALT-SHIFT, CTRL-ALT, CTRL-ALT-SHIFT) key in ‘Multiple Row N column N’ hotkeys, if works as ‘auto’ command (when should be train multiple units).
  2. You can’t use the ‘CTRL’ key alone in the ‘Multiple Row N column N’ hotkeys (set per example ‘CTRL-=’ to the ‘Multiple Row 1 Column 1’ hotkey: It doesn’t work [while if you set it to ‘Auto Row 1 Column 1’ hotkeys: it works] )

Repro Steps:

  1. Open Settings ->Hotkeys -> Combined Ability/Train Hotkeys.
  2. Option A: Bind a ‘Multiple Row N column N’ hotkey with a combination what has the ‘ALT’ key on it (ALT, ALT-SHIFT, CTRL-ALT, CTRL-ALT-SHIFT) It gonna perform the ‘Auto’ command not the ‘Multiple’ command.
Option B: If you bind it with ‘CTRL’ only, the hotkey just don’t gonna work.
  3. Close settings.
  4. Select multiple production buildings.
  5. Try to use the hotkey what you set in step 2 to train multiple units.

I was just looking to bind the "Alt + " to something else, since Auto-Queue is not really used that much, all of those hotkeys are wasted, but that’s a handy, easy to reach key combination.

You can unbind it, that works fine.

No, it really doesn’t work for me. When I unbind, the default hotkeys still function.

I don’t know what could be happening, I have the game in PC and PS5 and I don’t have this behavior.
