Issue:
Disclaimer: This is technically not a bug, but its very annoying and should get fixed asap imo.
Since Update 18.15886, trade caravans can be garrisoned:
“Caravans can now garrison in Town Centers when manually tasked.”
This change however made it very cumbersome to (re-)route traders back on a desired TC (i.e. after an attack) if playing with “one-click-garrison” turned on, as its not possible to let them restart trading by right-clicking anymore.
The other option, manually right-clicking idle traders on a market, will cause a caravan to trade with a seemingly random TC, sometimes its the one farthest away from the market, sometimes its the closest. In multiplayer this is especially frustrating because you will lose a lot of trade gold if your traders dont go for a specific route.
Currently the only solution to this is to disable this option (instant garrison on right click) and then trade with the desired TC.
→ A possible fix for this would be to add an additional button to caravans that allows the player to target a town center manually, even if they play with “one-click-garrison”.
Trigger Event:
Take idle caravan and right click on a town center to re-start trading with it. Caravans will garrisson inside instead of trading if playing with “one-click-garrisson” turned on.
Repro Steps:
- Turn “one-click-garrison” on in options.
- Start game with any god.
- Build mutliple town centers.
- Go to age3 and build a market; start producing caravans/traders and route them to a specific town center.
- Force caravans to go idle (either by letting them get attacked or stop them by manually moving the caravans).
- Take the idle caravans and right click on the desired town center. Caravans will garrison inside the town center instead of starting to trade with this specific town center.
- Now right click with those idle caravans on a market; traders will start trading with a random town center, which takes away control from the player. The only option to get them to start trading with a specific town center again is to disable “one-click-garrison” and right click on a town center.
