“clearly”? (minimum characters)
Microsofts high-ups :
- have by some miracle a game of a now-niche genre a quarter of a century old that is still popular and profitable
- still don’t trust the fans to know what they want to pay for
Though it also feels like an attempt of expanding in the chinese market. Anyway there is a lot of demand for a second, and actually medieval, chinese DLC.
the thing is they can only make a x amount of civs, now 3 slots with interesting bonus + mechanics are getting take away from factions nobody wanted.
the chance of getting a 2. EA DLC is very slim ngl..
I’m afraid that will no longer happen. Jurchens and Khitans are already part of this DLC and I doubt they will be included again in another DLC, so we can just assume they will never get campaigns. Tanguts are also mixed with the Khitans, so I guess they’re excluded as well.
If the 3K DLC had actually focused on just the 3K, there may still be hope. But now with this weird hybrid DLC I think we can rule it out for good.
I have no idea what they plan, but if they want to make a second DLC that also unlocks Jurchens and Khitans (possibly renamed Tanguts) it’s technically possible, only need 1 of the 2 to play them
I highly doubt they will make another DLC for China, at least not for the next 5-10 years and only if they make this DLC free in the future like DoI. And that’s assuming they decide to make tradidional DLCs again and they don’t keep making this experimental stuff for the foreseeable future.
They don’t need that long to plan a new DLC, also keep in mind Europe is already quite full (not much new civs can be added), and Africa & America are much less documented so harder to find proper campaigns, following it in 1 year would be possible.
At most they could put a discount for this future China DLC for players who already own T3K so that they don’t feel like buying the Jurchens and Khitans twice.
If they expand the timeline they can.
True, but it would still be perfectly feasible to make several DLCs for each continent.
You may be right. Since they only seem to try safe bets, maybe they’ll skip America and Africa and go back to China again soon.
I wish they’d do that, but I find it unlikely. I think it is more likely that they’ll make the civs part of the base game in a few years.
Anyway, I hope they’ll stop doing this weird stuff and go back to the traditional DLCs.
You’re living in a vain hope… Sadly.
Yeah, they already fooled me with the canceled AOE3 DLC, and now this Three Kingdoms thing. I’m not giving them the benefit of the doubt ever again
