Hello developers,
I would like to suggest a change to the attack-move mechanic in the game.
Currently, both patrol and attack-move cause units to automatically attack everything in their path, including all types of buildings. While this can be useful in some situations, it often leads to inefficient behavior when the intention is to focus on enemy units.
For example, when a group of archers is fighting another group of archers inside the enemy base, it is very common for them to start attacking nearby houses instead of the enemy units. This negatively impacts the attacking player and unintentionally benefits the defender, making defensive micro significantly easier—especially in post-Imperial Age fights.
My suggestion is to keep the patrol command as it is, but introduce a modified version of attack-move with more precise targeting behavior. This new command would make units attack only:
-
Military units
-
Villagers
-
Defensive structures such as Castles, Towers, Town Centers, Donjons, and Kreposts
And ignore non-defensive buildings like houses, farms, and production structures.
This change would give players better control during engagements and reduce frustrating situations where units prioritize irrelevant targets.
Thank you for your time and consideration!
