ERKs have better precision, warrior pries dont cost pop, mortars, better coyotes and wood free units. Also their age 4 farm-card and some temples cards have been buffed.
In age 1 they can get a lot of treasures with eagles and they get more starting wood. They are much better on DE than legacy, now they arent helpless vs skirmishers.
I barely see anyone playing Haude, but i think it basically boils down to the Late Game army.
Everything Germans do is below average what the other Europeans civs can do:
- Uhlans? Even with 3 cards in, they are close to 200 Hp less than vanilla Hussars like those of USA (the worst in the game). 10% more range resistance and more attack does not help that much at their job.
- War Wagons? Not pop. efficient at all.
- Doppel? Same thing.
- Skirms? Barely any upgrades, even with Royal, they are surpassed by Dutch normal skirm (fully carded).
They do have a great eco, but that’s pretty much it.
He posted the link, but basically, the list uses matchups points. Dutch and Indians must have more favorables matchups, even though you can see that are on equal footing VS Russians from what they noted.
I do not know if they updated this list recently. It’s obviously not recent, as it does not include USA
They have been playing with the USA civ on their Twitch streams. Maybe they will update the list again soon. Curious to see what they say. But it seems like the US operates like any other civ: mass sharpshooters, some hussar, same ol’ culverin/horse cannon war.
Was thinking about Russia matchups and I’ve changed my mind to relatively agree with it. Russia is lower tier in DE because its old running/shock tactics have been nerfed, and now you’re forced to deal with fights head-on with weaker infantry.
The weaker infantry is Russia’s bane, and they get shredded by almost every other skirm mass. I originally was able to get by and still win over a lot of players due to better artillery micro, then completely snowball with all of Russia’s crazy siege tools. But unfortunately I’ve met my match against players who were just as good with their artillery micro, and were using civs like Sweden or Ports. It’s terrible, and I think that tier list reflects that well.
Fighting head-on with Russia is disadvantageous no matter how you see it. Really it’s just the lack of strong skirm unit that kills it. Musks were buffed, but it still doesn’t have a solid backbone that a British Musketeer can offer. Pop for pop, you always lose unless you put cossacks in the mix. But even then, it’s too much of a drain on the eco
Pretty much this indeed.
Also, there is an important factor to this as well: the map pool.
Players tend to favor closed maps and this favor civs that want the head-to-head fight.
The famous Andes - Upper is a pretty closed map (small and some mountain ranges for natural defence) that also comes with the upgrade to unit creation speed. Instant cavalry speed is possible with Europeans civs and this make reacting to splits push way easier.
This also further disadvantage some civs over others, like Indians now creating their infantry at 4 times slower instead of 2 times slower than Europeans on other maps and obviously all civs that are strong at any form of multiple fronts opening and splits, like Ottomans, Russians and Indians.
andes upper is perfect for india even tho they produce the units ‘‘4 times slower’’ you got more then enough natural ressources, you got a confined space for headsup and open field for splits. there are no OP treasures giving you a advantage or disadvantage. andes is the map where every civ can reach their max potential.
keep in mind, this list is for upper andes and is based on every civ playing in their most ideal spot. as you typically play germany in nats and haude aswell the direct matchup on andes in the cliffs is a sure win for iro since ger can barely mass HC because of iro LC, cant use cav due to nats, thus eliminating one of their biggest pros and iros weakness to cav doesnt matter as much.
the tier list in that discord has been done by dicktator, zivearia and floko. basically the 3 best treaty players in the game for a long time now. i’d say its accurate.
US isnt on the list yet because its new, not fully tested and is probably up for a change anyway since its almost unbeatable if the players are evenly skilled. it just doesnt feel OP but it sure is maybe the strongest civ in treaty atm.
I had not seen this list before so I took a look at it and I can pretty much agree with it. Not surprising French and Swedes are at the top.
