[CIVILIZATION CONCEPT] The Incans - Age of Mythology Retold

Hi everyone!

With the recent addition of the Aztecs, I wanted to share a concept that I believe would be a perfect and natural next step for the game:

The Incan Civilization

This concept is designed to fit the Age of Mythology formula, while also integrating the rich mythologies of the Andes and the cultures that were unified under the Inca Empire (Chimú, Mochica, etc.).

FOREWORD

The Incan Empire was defined by its flawless stone architecture and its spiritual connection to the Andean geography. This proposal introduces a civilization based on Verticality and Sacred Urbanism, where economic expansion is, at the same time, an expansion of faith.

HERO

The Incas has ONE Hero: The Sapa Inca

  1. Evolution: The hero progresses from Auqui (Prince) to Inca (King) and finally Sapa Inca (Emperor) through age-up technologies.
  2. Special Abilities:
  • Meteoric Sling: Explosive fire damage in a targeted area.
  • Condor Eye: A powerful spear throw that pierces enemies and grants vision.
  • Solar Alliance: A passive aura that doubles damage against Myth Units.
  • Diarquía (Dual Sovereignty): Ability to train a second Inca (Hurin) in the Mythic Age to manage two battle fronts.

MINOR GODS

1. Illapa (God of Thunder & Rain)

  • Myth Unit: Amaru. A flying, serpentine creature that strikes from the sky with powerful lightning bolts, devastating both units and structures.

  • Technology: Resonant Thunder. Increases the damage and range of lightning-based attacks (like the Amaru’s) and grants a small chance to stun enemies upon impact.

2. Supay (God of the Underworld)

  • Myth Unit: Emperor’s Mallkis. Ancient mummified warriors with immense resilience that can temporarily revive after being defeated in combat.
  • Technology: Ancestral Darkness. Boosts the armor and duration of spectral units and allows myth units to revive once per lifetime.

3. Pachamama (Goddess of the Earth)

  • Myth Unit: Pururauca. Implacable stone warriors that act as ultimate defenders, capable of absorbing massive amounts of damage to hold the line.

  • Technology: Mother Earth’s Blessing. Enhances resource production in farms and quarries while increasing the pierce and hack armor of stone-based units like the Pururauca.

4. Zaramama (Goddess of Maize)

  • Myth Unit: Sons of Urcuchillay. Agile half-llama warriors specialized in rapid melee combat and high-impact charges.
  • Technology: Harvest Strength. Increases the gathering speed of food and improves the attack damage and movement speed of the Sons of Urcuchillay.

5. Inti (God of the Sun)

  • Myth Unit: Sun Children. Giant slingers that launch fire projectiles at long range, causing significant damage to enemy fortifications.

  • Myth Unit: Nazca Condor. A massive bird that harasses enemies from a distance by blasting sand from its wings.
  • Technology: Twilight Winds. Boosts movement speed and evasion during dawn and dusk; the Nazca Condor’s sand attack gains a blinding effect that reduces enemy accuracy.

8. Huari (God of War)

  • Myth Unit: Chavin Stone Puma. A ferocious stone-carved beast that comes to life, boasting high durability and the ability to cause chaos in enemy ranks.
  • Technology: Ancestral Furor. Increases the raw damage and resistance of all military units while boosting the morale of nearby troops.

  • Technology: Yakumama’s Fury. Increases the size and attack power of the Yakumama and improves the speed and hull strength of all naval vessels.

MILITARY UNITS

The Incans lack traditional cavalry and mechanical siege. They rely on elite infantry (reference of AOE III):

  • Chasqui: High-speed scout for map control and relic hunting.
  • Chimu Runner: They can easily engage and disengage from any fight they want (like age III)
  • Jungle Bowmen: The same as AOE III
  • Huaraca: Heavy slinger trained in the Kallanka, serving as long-range siege
  • Camayuc: Long-range spear infantry, highly effective against cavalry.

TITAN: THE LIVING APU

The Incans awaken the Apu: a holy mountain-man that rises from the earth to crush enemy armies and cities at the command of its Emperor.
