In most circumstance yes but you have a forward villagers as a pocket building a forward making a detour to killing sheep and deer isn’t the worst idea also it means you no longer they no longer have to micro their sheep. also this has synergy with Tatars and to a much lessor extent Mongols, Britons, and Mayans

He meant laming deer (or boars if you choose to kill them where the roam) because you usually kill them all at roughly the same time causing them to rot, even if your opponent tries to collect them then he cant collect from 4 deer at the same time and he will lose a lot of food
Depends how you lame if you send a villager to wall their resource and kill their deer and boar this will hurt if you. This perfectly fine on any map other than Socotra where laming is the norm but the idea of an animal carcass remaining indefinitely is kind of ridicoulous
I think both of you are misunderstanding the bonus. The bonus only applies if animals are killed by villagers. If military units kill them, they behave like normal. Laming is still possible.
We understand what you meant, the laming we are both refering to is often done early with a villager you send forward
