The whole concept of a wonder is that it’s the pinnacle of your civilization that must be defended against enemies. This has been a feature of this franchise from the beginning, so it’s a shame to lose it in Retold. the Wonder Age mechanic essentially turns it into an offensive weapon of conquest which loses the plot imo. That’s all very well as an option but it would be nice to be able to play the classic way where defending the wonder could get pretty intensely challenging.
Call me nostalgic, but I would very much like to play an old school wonder defense. The wonder age thing could still be an option similar to the wonder race mode in AoE2. An option to filter out wonders altogether in conquest mode would also be welcome, as they were never part of that victory setting before.
