This is happening with me too since the Update 174992 was released.
The day before the update I could play those UGC co-op mod maps with my girlfriend, after the patch we couldn’t any more due to her being kicked from the lobby after the file transfer failed.

This was the sole reason I bought 2 copies of the game…

If you don’t plan to release more Co-op campaigns that a lot of people like me would even pay for, at least please don’t break the community ones.

Yes, my friend finally managed to take a day off yesterday, and we were really excited to play a long co-op campaign together. Unfortunately, we ran into this issue, which was pretty frustrating. We temporarily fixed it by manually rolling back to an earlier version. If you need it, you can follow these steps:

Type the following into your browser:

steam://open/console

Then use this command to download the older version:

download_depot 813780 813781 3409677687579477561

After the download is complete, you’ll see a prompt. Manually copy the downloaded files into your game directory to overwrite the existing ones.

An alternate workaround for scenarios (though some people have trouble with it) is to copy the scenario files from the mod to your profile scenario folder (unsubscribe from the mod afterwards) then host from your profile scenario folder. The typical location is:

C:\Users\<user_name>\Games\Age of Empires 2 DE\<steam_id_number>\resources\_common\scenario
