[Compendium]Community ideas that could improve the game (not bugs or balance)

Share your thoughts and I’ll compile them into a list. Features ideas of the game please, not balance or bugs

I’ll start:

  • Possibility to view the statistics of each game in the ‘Recent’-‘match history’.

  • In multiplayer, party members should be able to see the tech tree while searching for a match. Currently only the host can.

  • Relics could be added to the compendium.

  • In multiplayer, it would be nice to be able to select the position within the group (1,2,3,4…) to play pocket or flank.

  • Player search in the ranking.

  • Disable forced formations hotkey.

  • Poseidon Lure stone maybe could have the TC livestock button.

  • Possibility to choose color in multiplayer. Or at least chance to choose ‘preferred color’ for the game.

  • Mod browser could show which ones can or cannot be used in ranked.

  • Players who have lost or retreated on a multiplayer game, should not be able to see the explored map meanwhile the game is going on. Perhaps only the vision of their allies.

  • Possibility to go any minute on repetitions.

Dwarven Berserk

Poseidon (SPC) major god with atlantean (style) buildings and atlantean (style) human units, but greek tech tree, for use as Atlantis in the Fall of the Trident campaign. Only exists in that campaign and in Editor. Not available in (unmodded) skirmish or multiplayer.

Elves instead of dwarves for Freyr, with Elvish Ragnarök hero and Berserk to go with it.

Faction specific farms. Like, Greeks grow grapes, Egyptians grow wheat, Norse grow beets or something, Atlanteans grow quinces, Chinese grow Rice…

Less Roman visual design for Atlantean military units.

Every major god getting it’s own Titan, like in the mod. Prometheus god portrait actually match how the Prometheus Titan looks, like with Gaia and Kronos.

Atlantean llama caravan being replaced with a dwarf-elephant caravan, to add another reference to the legend of Atlantis, and to allow a different, future Pantheon to have llamas.

Mercenaries of either type to have a progress bar go up, rather than the health bar down, and cost gold again upon the bar being full, and dying when the gold they cost isn’t there when the bar is full.

An option in the game settings to turn the donkey of Atlantean citizens invisible. (I personally find the donkey looks silly, I know others like it)

The rest:
Poseidon style, freyr elves, atlantean roman style, unique titans, atlantean caravans and atlantean donkeys seem unecesary changes in my opinion. Game is just released and what you propose is a quite big rework of 1 civ (atlanteans) and 1 major god (Poseidon).

i think either they will not be interested in changing that or probably think that will destryoy the unique style that defines each pantheon. I think they intend to have same style between gods.

Dont get me wrong, I like the Titan mod, but I understand that Titan resembles the Panteon’s Titan, not the God. Allowing visual mod to be played on rankeds should solve that.

It’s personal opinion anyway.

Age of mythology needs more nonstandard maps and game types- Empire wars, a mythological equivalent of the historical maps from the latest expansion of AOE3 (not to be confused with historical battles), and a mega random map.

  • Campaign heroes should be available for the Greeks, as they only have a few heroes available, the Greeks are the only pantheons that have a hero limit.
  • Shrines for the Greeks should be available for passive favor collection as they will not require villagers praying to collect favor or it should be optional.
  • Hypaspist should be available in the Classical Age , Hoplite is only counter cavalry.

I thought some ideas about Greek heroes…

1- All 4 (or increment maybe to 5) avaiable since Archaic Age but weak, and they upgrade their strenght every age up

2- Some method of promoting units to heroes depending on their performance in combat.
Here I thought in 2 methods:

-Every unit that kills some determined numer of units can promote to Hero (wiht some animation wiht delay in order to promote out of combat)

-Every determined numer of kills with a type of unit gives you a promote to hero. For example, every 5 kills with Hoplites gives you 1 hoplita promote to hero.

What do you think?
