Could AoE3 rework the way its artillery works?

I donā€™t know if I made myself clear. I would like the artillery to cooperate with the formation, automatically placing itself in the center, although this would only work with one gun at a time. I imagine it would be very complicated with several guns.

Is not about the role of each unit
Its about the unit responsiveness, pathing and micromanagement
Artillery in III is painful to play with in comparison with IV

This is exactly what this topic is about.

Isnt that how it works now?

Not if you are European, yes if you play as any other civ

AKs moving to the killed unit position is annoying AF. Iā€™ve lost matches due to that

I typically play TWC civs, and I donā€™t see any issue. Hauds arguably have the best arty and goons with extra bonus vs artillery, Aztecs have AK among other solutions, and as Lakota you just make cav anyway.

Even if you disagree with those, what weā€™re talking about are a few civs that need another anti-artillery option, not a whole rework to the entire artillery system.

I play China and this is a massive issue. All it takes is some art micro from your enemy and you are done with your weakling slow sitting ducks mortarsā€¦

Would be interesting if we ignore the very real posibility of this fucking up pathing even more than is the case rn.

inca has no answer vs mass artillery if opponent get to a few heavy cannons, or gatlings then it is impossible to kill. lakota cannot make cav alone, for example lakota cannot kill azaps cannons, lakota will still die to skirm goon cannons from any euro civs

yes chinese mortar need to be removed of the modes, make it like light cannons or siege ele or flaming arrows
